I created this piece during a time when I felt little joy. I started my "Emotions Series" and found it hard to create an artwork about happiness; many pieces turned out very dark and angsty. I found inspiration in my husband, who serves as my joy even in hard times. I used pink - his favorite color - and transitioned the color to vibrant gold and grounding purple.
